Artist Statement
My work is abstract—not as a stylistic choice, but as a way of reaching beyond the specifics of lived experience toward something shared. I am less interested in depicting how something looks than in communicating what it is: the feeling or truth at the center of a moment.
My artistic practice is rooted in simplicity and a quiet attentiveness to the world around me. I am drawn to black and white for its clarity and restraint; within that contrast lies a depth that feels both honest and enduring.
Working primarily in acrylic and occasionally in mixed media, I explore the interplay of line, shape, and the relationship between positive and negative space. At times, I introduce metallic foil as a subtle interruption—an acknowledgment of what cannot be fully seen. What is omitted carries as much weight as what remains, and in that balance the work finds its tension and rhythm.
Making art is, for me, an act of presence—a way of slowing down and noticing what is often overlooked. There is a quiet, almost spiritual quality in that attention, a searching beneath the surface of what is visible. Each work reaches toward those moments that ask us to pause—and in that pause, recognize something essential.
