Artist Statement

My work is abstract—a deliberate choice that allows me to move beyond individual experience toward something shared. I am less interested in how something looks than in what lingers—the feeling at the center of a moment.

At its core the work is rooted in simplicity and in paying attention. I am drawn to black and white for its clarity and restraint; within that contrast is a depth that feels honest and enduring.

I work primarily in acrylic, sometimes in mixed media, exploring line, shape, and the balance between positive and negative space. At times I introduce metallic foil—a quiet interruption, a nod to what can be felt but not fully seen. What is left out carries as much weight as what remains; in that balance, the work finds its rhythm.

Making art is a way of slowing down and noticing what is often overlooked. There is something quiet and searching in that attention. Each work reaches toward moments that ask us to pause—and in that pause, recognize something essential.
